The driver of a high-speed sports car dragged multiple police agencies on a more than 100-mph chase across three counties Thursday.

The driver was captured in Austin around 9:30 p.m., Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said.

The chase started when Killeen police responded to a report of a Porsche racing near State Highway 195 around 9 p.m.

Killeen police tried to stop the Porsche, but the driver sped away at more than 100 mph. At least three Killeen police cruisers chased the Porsche into Williamson County, according to scanner reports.

Killeen police requested assistance from Williamson County, which deployed spike strips to flatten the Porsche's tires.

The Porsche evaded the spike strips placed on State Highway 195 near Florence and then on U.S. Highway 183 near Liberty Hill.

The driver continued onto the U.S. 183A toll road until two sets of spike strips punctured the tires, causing the Porsche to slow near the Travis County border.

The driver abandoned the Porsche and fled on foot near Avery Ranch Road in Austin, scanner reports indicated.

The driver was captured by Williamson County deputies and state troopers, Smith said.

Suspect information was not available late Thursday.
