The Bell County Commissioners Court voted Tuesday to approve acceptance of a grant of about $128,631 from the task force of indigent defense.
The state requires that the county take a percentage of the total budget and designate it for indigent care, Precinct 4 Commissioner John Fisher said. The number budgeted was based on that percentage.
Indigent care is aid for those who need help with medical expenses.
Commissioners also approved the purchase and financing of computer network switching equipment and maintenance for the Communication Center through Key Government Finance Inc. The purchase is financed through budgeted funds.
