Angela Delaney scored 17 points to lead the Union Grove eighth-grade A-team girls to a 38-15 win over the Smith Lady Leopards on Dec. 3
Other scorers for Union Grove were Kennetra Hill (13 points), Chante Mitchell (four) and Kyla Menefee and Angel Young (two each).
Palo Alto 8A 45, Audie Murphy 8A 16 – Francesca Patrick tossed in 11 points and Akiera Spear added 10 to lift the Lady Patriots to a win.
Other scorers for Palo Alto were Ashley Lemons (eight points), Jessica Young and Itasca Runnels (four each) and Shalese Grant, Jaleea Bonnell, Tamia Joames and Lyric Dinwiddie (two each).
Copperas Cove JH 8A 27, Temple Lamar 8A 20 – Qiana Canete scored 13 points in the Lady Pups' win.
Bryaunea Hall added six.
Copperas Cove JH 8A 41, Lake Belton 8A 12 – At Lake Belton, Qiana Canete scored 18 points in the Lady Pups' win.
Other scorers for Cove were Chandler Diaz (seven points) and Xylina Carlisle (six).
Nolan 8A vs. Liberty Hill 8A (outcome not provided) – Adriona Hill led Nolan with six points.
Other scorers for the Lady Mustangs were Caila Butler (five points) and Olyvia Lee and Madelyn Ferrell (two each).
Other standouts were Bailey Wade, Coen Watson, Daejhah McJimson and Janaya Hayes.
Rancier 8A def. Manor 8A – At Manor, Infinitie Coleman scored 10 points and the Lady Ka-Roos earned their first victory of the season.
Other scorers for Rancier were Lajada Williams (eight points), Kayla Ryals (six), Ghiniva Phillips (five), Kiara Lawton (four), Lajada Andrews (two) and Alexus Lane (one). Aliyah Lane was a defensive standout.
Palo Alto 8B 34, Audie Murphy 8B 16 – Michaela Wilson, Danielle Peters, Aija Beamon and Bria Arthur each scored six points to lead the Lady Patriots to a win.
Other scorers for Palo Alto were Keneisha Robinson (four points) and Daeja Smith and Araysha Jackson (two each).
The eighth-grade B-team Lady Patriots return to action Dec. 17 at home against Nolan.
Cove JH 8B 38, Temple Lamar 6 – Allyson Reneau tossed in 12 points to help the Lady Pups get the win.
Other scorers for Cove were Arielle Keeler (nine points) and Paige French (eight).
Nolan 8B vs. Liberty Hill 8B (outcome not provided) – Top scorers for Nolan were Yazmine Rodriguez and Erindira Carreon. Diamond Mills was a defensive standout. Other contributors for the Lady Mustangs were Marquishia Nevels, Alayah Johnson, Leticia Bueno-Perez and Yovanna Dhuperior.
Union Grove 8B 14, Smith 8B 6 – Annabella Skinner scored six points to help lead the Grizzlies to a victory.
Sandra Tenore, Mackenzie Lee and Brittiany Hawthorne each added four points.
Liberty Hill 7A 35, Nolan 7A 8 – At Nolan, Jasonica Moore scored 15 points in the Lady Lions victory.
Other scorers for Liberty Hill were Alexis Weisheit (eight points), Claire Brownfield (six), Celexeia Partlow (three), Kiara Artis (two) and Demetria Herron (one).
Weisheit led the team in assists.A'magynn Conkelton was a
defensive standout.
The Lady Lions
seventh-graders are off until hosting Manor on Dec. 17.
Cove JH 7A 41, Temple Lamar 11 – Kelsie Ash scored 10 points to lead the Lady Pups to victory. Angel Mullen and Capricia Brooks each added eight.
Liberty Hill 7A 35, Nolan 7A 8 – Nina Hudson had six points, two steals and a rebound to lead the defeated Lady Mustangs.
Irena Hargrove added another basket in the closing seconds. Other contributors were Caitlyn McWhirter (steal), Keturah Ollares and Alexanderea Brooks (two rebounds).
Manor 7A 28, Rancier 7A 22 – Briana Davis led the defeated Lady Roos with 14 points.
Other scorers for Rancier were Bernice Zackary (four points) and Shanille Gould and Dionna Tucker (two each).
Taylor Smith, Molley Maxson, Desting Caldwell, Angelica Meza and Felicia Foster were defensive standouts.
Liberty Hill 7B 27, Nolan 7B 6 – LaQueesha Currie scored nine points to lead the Lady Lions to a win.
Other scorers for Liberty Hill were Daijuana Johnson, Melinda Sarabia and Danielle Perdue (four points each) and Arabia Gantt, Triana Mayshack and Victoria Hernandez (two each).
Kiera Moody led the defeated Lady Mustangs with four points, seven steals and four rebounds.
Other contributors for Nolan were Maribel River (two points), Alysia Espada (four steals), Dondria McDonald (two steals), Jasmine Willis and Jennifer Rodriguez (one steal each), Rose Farace (four rebounds) and Joelys Cruz (one rebound).
Rancier 7B 15, Manor 7B 10 –Chante Pinkney scored five points and Daja Dantzler added four to lead the Lady Roos to a win.
Shajada Quinn, Makalia Cox and Quintaya Mathis each had two points. Jessica Hernandaz, Jamia Shackleford, Evonne Togia, Kierra Williamson and Aijalon Charles were defensive standouts.
Cove JH 7B 30, Temple Lamar 13 – Shana Young, Johni Atkinson and Adina Lumpkin each scored six points for the winning Lady Pups.
Cove JH 7B 14, Lake Belton 7B 11 – At Lake Belton, Victoria Keaton scored six points to lead the Lady Pups to a win.
Other scorers for Cove were Lauren Gudel (four points) and Migdalia Porchea and Christina Rodriguez (two each).
Union Grove 7B 24, Smith 7B 2 – Daysha Cepeda led the Grizzlies to a victory with 10 points.
Other scorers for Union Grove were Miciah Reddell (four points) and Leah Owens, Jade Robinson, Jasmine Buggs, Asya Stoudemire and Quantavius Moore (two each).
BOYS
Eastern Hills 8A 44, Audie Murphy 8A 21 – Josh Hicks scored 14 points to lead the Panthers to a win.
Eastern Hills (1-1) never looked back after jumping out to a 10-2 lead. Other scorers for the Panthers were Dyeon Foster (seven points), Ferron Fleming (six) and Esteban Cruz and Kyle Foster (five each). Thomas Howard and Trenton Jones were defensive standouts.
The eighth-grade Panthers are off until Jan. 4.
Live Oak Ridge 8A 52, Smith 8A 40 – Brian Long scored 26 points for the defeated Leopards. Ziere Banner added nine.
Live Oak Ridge went on a 13-0 run and led 16-3 after one quarter. The Lobos led 26-16 at halftime.
Smith's eighth-graders travel to Rancier next week.

Anthony Harding had seven points and five rebounds to lead the defeated Mustangs.
Other contributors for Nolan were Elijah Wilson (four points, three rebounds, two steals), Desmond Rice (two points) and defensive standouts D'Angelo Bryant and Joshua Shortte.
The Nolan eighth-graders travel to Palo Alto on Monday.

Dayshilon Ranch led the defeated Mustangs with three points. Martez Phillips, Jose Rodriguez-Padro and Grayson Bonner were defensive standouts.
Palo Alto 7A 50, Manor 7A 12 – Calvin Johnson, Clark Mikell and Ladarius King each scored eight points to lead the Patriots to victory.
Shannon Bogues and Elwin Cook each added six points. Kevon Young and Shaqur Martin were defensive standouts.
The Palo Alto seventh-graders host Nolan on Monday.
Union Grove 7A 45, Smith 7A 5 – Mariana Warren led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points in the Grizzlies' victory.
Other scorers for Union Grove were Katelyn Jenkins (nine points), Alexis Dukes (eight), Nayala Shabazz (five), Natasha St. Hiliare and Talis Houston (four each), Gillian Pons (three) and Vivian Walter (two).
Jenkins made a 3-point basket.
Union Grove 7A 46, Nolan 7A 11 – Juwaun Wright scored 18 points and the Grizzlies won their second straight game to start the season.
Other scorers for Union Grove were Troy Smith (nine points), CJ Bobbitt (eight), DJ Mitchell (five) and McLane Matthew, Raquine Johnson and Brian Thomas (two each)
The seventh-grade Grizzlies host Audie Murphy next week.
Rancier 7A 42, Patterson 38 – At Rancier, Damion Upshaw scored 22 points and the Ka-Roos won their second straight to start the season.
Other scorers for Rancier were Demaris Cress (14 points), Anthony Johnson (four), Anthony Oliver (three), Kenrick Rodney (two) and Djiron Lilly (one).
The
seventh-grade Ka-Roos travel to Smith on Monday.
Patterson 7B 37, Rancier 7B 31 – At Rancier, Carl Dickens scored 21 points for the defeated Ka-Roos.
Other scorers for Rancier (1-1) were Treyvon Thompson (five points) and Kevon Byrd and Steven Williams (two each).
Union Grove 7B 19, Nolan 7B 5 – Chris Henderson scored seven points, including a 3-pointer to beat the buzzer, in the Grizzlies victory.
Other scorers for Union Grove (2-0) were Michael Woods (four points), Jabriel Wilson (three), Tristyn Anderson and Taylor Norvell (two each) and Dominic Holt (one).
Palo Alto 7B 30, Manor 7B 18 – Robert Fischman led all scorers with 15 points in the Patriots' win.
Other scorers for Palo Alto were Stacy Carter (nine points) and Ray Alvarado (four). Kevin Drisdale, Justin Horns and Christian Ellis were defensive standouts.
