BELTON – A Nolanville man accused of fatally shooting a cab dispatcher while robbing a cab company was indicted on capital murder charges Wednesday by a Bell County grand jury.

Employees of Express Cab identified Kris Michael Lewis Turnbull, 19, a former employee, in a hidden camera surveillance video of the Sept. 26 fatal robbery.

Police responding to a call about a traumatic injury found Timothy Manning, 33, of Harker Heights, lying on the floor of the business about 8:30 a.m., bleeding profusely from his mouth, nose and the back of his head.

In the video, a man walked back and forth behind the victim. He then raised a silver handgun, aimed and shot Manning, a father of four, in the back of the head, according to the arrest affidavit.

The man then entered the owner's office and took a drop-off box containing an undisclosed amount of cab fares.

According to Herald archives, police arrested Turnbull in Killeen the day of the robbery, and he was jailed in Bell County on a $1 million bond.

Capital murder is punishable with death or life imprisonment.
