Car accident sends two to hospital

A 57-year-old man and a woman were hospitalized Monday after a two-car accident.
A cream Nissan Murano, driven by the man, collided with a gray Toyota Corolla driven by the woman. The accident happened around 1:45 p.m. at the eastbound intersection of the Central Texas Expressway and the Jasper Road overpass.
A witness said the Nissan, headed eastbound on CTE, ran into the Toyota, headed westbound on Jasper Road. The man was taken by ambulance to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center with injuries to his face and head, according to Killeen police.
Ambulances took the woman to Metroplex Hospital with chest pains. Both injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to Killeen police. Both were wearing
seatbelts. The accident blocked the Jasper overpass for more than 40 minutes Monday.
