Heights restaurant gutted by fire

A fire collapsed the roof of a Harker Heights restaurant Sunday night and caused an estimated $150,000 in damages.
At 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Harker Heights and Killeen Fire Departments responded to the fire at Texas Grill BBQ and Crab Shack in the 100 block of West Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
Flames and smoke were already escaping the north side of the building by the time, the first responders were on the scene, a HHFD news release stated. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes by attacking the flames from above, the release stated.
The flames were extinguished in about 45 minutes. HHFD had calls to quell hot spots around 10 a.m. today. The blaze is currently under investigation by Harker Heights Fire Marshall, the release stated.
