Killeen Daily HeraldFort Hood officials released details Wednesday about a 22-year-old soldier killed at his Killeen apartment Monday.
Pvt. Joshua M. Wyatt, 22, died Monday of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Killeen police.
Wyatt, a native of Charlotte, N.C., returned from deployment to Iraq in January, according to a III Corps news release.
He deployed in October 2007 with Alpha Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
His decorations included the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
The shooting happened around 11:20 p.m. Monday at Wyatt's apartment at 3406 Victoria Circle. No suspects have been arrested.
