Continuing with their win-one, lose-one motif this season, the Shoemaker Lady Grey Wolves will move on from their 67-34 loss to No. 11 Cedar Park, but they'll have to do it without senior guard Jasmine Dill.

Dill, who had all seven of Shoemaker's first-quarter points, suffered a knee injury with six minutes left in the first half and did not return. Lady Grey Wolves' coach Shauna Showers said she hoped it wouldn't be a season-ending injury.

"We're going to have to be prepared to be without her," Showers said. "I hope we're not, but if we are, we're going to have to prepare and ... if we can't play the season for ourselves, then let's play it for her because she can't play it and she's a senior."

Sophomore Kiara Rawls, a starting wing, took over the Lady Grey Wolves (3-3) offense after Dill's injury and led Shoemaker with 14 points, including seven in the fourth quarter – the quarter Showers wants to focus on.

"I told (Rawls), 'you're just going to have to step up and assume the role' and she did a good job," Showers said. "She's very coachable ... We've just got to get together and have confidence.

"The second half was the team that we've been coaching and the team that I've seen play. We've got to put all four quarters together."

Cedar Park's Madison Wheeler hit four straight 3-pointers on five possessions in the second quarter and then the Lady Timberwolves (8-0) made 10 layups in the second half.

"That's exactly what we're trying to do. We're not a mid-range team," said Cedar Park coach Mark Myers. "We're looking to get it inside for easy shots or get the open 3. We spend a lot of time shooting, working on 3s in practice ... but (Shoemaker) plays good defense and we knew that coming in; they were going to be up there tight."

Wheeler hit a game-opening 3-pointer and was one of three Lady Timberwolves to score five points in the first quarter as Cedar Park opened with an 18-7 lead. Cedar Park really unloaded with 24 in the second quarter to lead 42-14 at halftime.

Wheeler finished with 19 points and Maddie Hess and Madison Kramr each finished with 11 points for Cedar Park.

Rawls was Shoemaker's only player to score double-digits and Dill's seven was the team's second-best production.

Rawls scored five in the second quarter but Shoemaker turned the ball over nine times in the period and went 3½ minutes

into the third quarter before making its first second-half field goal to cut Cedar Park's lead to 51-16.

"It's hard to swallow but I can swallow it and we can come back and, hopefully, improve from this," Showers said. "Cedar Park is always a class act and a great team to play. They exposed our weaknesses. Now we need to go back and work on them."

The Lady Grey Wolves are off until a trip to Waco Midway on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
