Heights man killed in car accident Posted On: Monday, Nov. 23 2009 01:22 PM A Harker Heights man died in a car accident Sunday after his vehicle collided with a tree off of Farm-to-Market 2484.

Justice of the Peace Don Engleking pronounced Juan Fraire Garcia, 39, dead at the scene at 5:38 p.m. Sunday. The accident occurred at about 4:22 p.m., said Texas Department of Public Safety officials.

Garcia was driving a 2002 Chevy pickup truck westbound on FM 2484 when he lost control of the vehicle about one mile west of Union Grove Lane near Salado, DPS officials
said.

The vehicle veered off the north side of the roadway and struck a tree, DPS officials said. Garcia was trapped in the vehicle until first responders arrived. He was wearing his seat belt.
