Limited supply of H1N1 vaccine

The Bell County Public Health District has a limited supply of H1N1 flu virus available for people highest at risk for the disease, also known as swine flu.
Vaccines will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in Killeen and Temple.
Vaccines will only be given to the following groups:
Pregnant women in the second and third trimester. They must bring a doctor's note to the clinic to verify the stage of pregnancy. The note may also be faxed.
Infants and children, ages 6 months through 4 years.
Caregivers for infants age 6 months or younger.
People age 5 to 64 years with high-risk health conditions, including chronic lung conditions (such as asthma), heart disease, blood disorders (such as sickle cell), endocrine disorders (such as diabetes), kidney disorders, liver disorders, weakened immune system or receiving long-term aspirin therapy.
Health care workers who provide direct patient care.

The health district hopes to have enough of the vaccine available in December to open clinics to everyone, a news release stated. For more information, call the clinics at the numbers listed above.
