Central Texas College will host its annual Haunted House and Autumn Carnival in the Student Center, Building 106, today and Saturday.

The haunted house will be open to the public from 6 to 11 p.m. and features activities for the entire family including a haunted hayride, games, costume contests, food and a haunted house designed by students of the various campus clubs and organizations.

A tour of the haunted house costs $4 per person and the haunted hayride is $1 per person.

The carnival games start at 50 cents.

Ten percent of all proceeds from the haunted house will be donated to the CTC Foundation Scholarship Program.

Tickets are on sale now at the campus police office, Building 139, or can be purchased at the door.

After leaving the haunted house, visit the Mayborn Planetarium and Space Theater for more frightening fun with special presentations of two laser light shows. The first is "Fright Light" which features Halloween-themed music like Michael Jackson's "Thriller," "The Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Edgar Winter Group's "Frankenstein."

It is followed by "Laser Halloween." The show features something for everyone as it includes songs by Alvin and the Chipmunks, John Williams, Alice Cooper and Nine Inch Nails. It also features the theme from "Beetlejuice," "Ghostbusters" and music from "Harry Potter." The two laser light shows will rotate every 45 minutes starting at 6 p.m. with the last show starting at 10:30 p.m.

In addition to the laser light shows, the planetarium will feature a free late-night horror movie tonight and Saturday. "Shaun of the Dead" will be screened at 11:15 p.m. today and "Quarantine" will be shown at 11:15 p.m. Saturday. Both films are rated R.
