Special to the Cove Herald
The Copperas Cove Ministerial Alliance will have its regular meeting Nov. 4, at noon at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 300 W. Ave B., Copperas Cove.
The meal will be provided by St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Copperas Cove.
The planning will include the final portions of the Thanksgiving Service scheduled for Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at Saints Center, 801 Industrial Ave., Copperas Cove. The service is an opportunity to financially bless the Cove House, our emergency homeless shelter and provide funds for continued operation.
The demands on the food pantry through this past month, have more than exceeded all the requests in 2008.
The depressed economy and business slow down has impacted us right here in Copperas Cove.
Those that are unable to attend and desire to financially contribute, may do so by making a check payable to the Cove House and mailing it to the First Baptist Church, 300 W. Ave. B., Copperas Cove, 76522. The pastor, Mark Kemp, will see that the funds are included in the Thanksgiving Service collection.
Other business will include the election of new officers for the coming year and Pastor Brent Sanders, assistant pastor, North Pointe Church, was elected to serve as the Ministerial Alliance representative on the Cove House Board of Directors.
He will take the position in January at the annual meeting of the Cove House.
Nominations for office were Pastor J. Edward Fisher, Saints Center, president, Pastor Jody Jones, Robertson Avenue Baptist Church, vice president, Pastor Stephen Schmidt, Grace Methodist Church, secretary, and Kemp, First Baptist Church, treasurer.
This is a Judeo-Christian fellowship of ministers and Ministries that support the Copperas Cove community and all are welcome.
You do not have to be a member to attend.
