U.S. Army Operational Test Command is set to host a Testers' Hall of Fame and Forward Operational Assessment Team XII award ceremony 10 a.m. Friday at West Fort Hood.
These events are typically celebrated in two ceremonies, but they have been combined so officials from the command's higher headquarters in Alexandria, Va., can attend.
The Hall of Fame ceremony is an annual event that honors operational testers across the Army for lifetime service and achievement in operational testing. This year's honoree is Douglas W. York, former deputy director of the command's Maneuver Test Directorate. His wife and daughter will accept the award.
Forward Operational Assessment Team XII recently returned from a six-month rotation to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait where its soldier embedded with units to harvest data and assess equipment, technology and systems. The team is comprised of soldiers, Department of the Army civilians and contractors.
Maj. Gen. Roger Nadeau, Army Test and Evaluation commander, will host the welcome ceremony.
