LAMPASAS COUNTY – A decoy posing as a 14-year-old girl helped snare a 26-year-old Lometa man.

The Lampasas sheriff's office said Blake Edmondson engaged in a sex chat with a 14-year-old girl. In reality, a decoy posed as a girl during a law enforcement sting, a news release stated.

The conversation led to Edmondson's arrest Monday on a charge of online solicitation of a minor for sexual conduct. Further investigation yielded evidence that Edmondson was involved with a girl not part of a sting, the news release stated.

The new information led to an additional charge of sexual assault of a child.
