Killeen Daily HeraldA man armed with a pistol robbed an attendant and customers in a crowded Subway restaurant Friday.
Killeen police responded to a robbery at the Subway in the 3300 block of East Rancier at 11:31 a.m. Witnesses said an armed man walked in and demanded money from a female Subway attendant. The attendant thought the suspect was joking until he fired a bullet into the ceiling, a Killeen Police Department news release stated.
"She didn't think he was serious because a lot of people were in the store. He shot a round into the ceiling, robbed a couple of customers and ran out," KPD spokeswoman Carroll Smith said.
The suspect escaped in a tan Mercedes Benz with Texas license plate KJT-427, heading east on Rancier.
The suspect is described as a black man, 19 to 20 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing between 180 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a black "do-rag," a black shirt, dark-colored denim jeans, white socks and black shoes.
The suspect had a dark scarf over his face and was wearing a black belt with rainbow skulls on it with a skull and crossbones buckle.
Anyone with information should contact KPD at 501-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 526-TIPS (8477).
