Two die in head-on auto collision Sunday

Texas Department of Public Safety released the name today of the second victim in a Sunday morning accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 190 one mile east of Clear Creek.
Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced Xantavia M. Phillips, 23, of Fort Hood dead at 6:15 a.m. Sunday at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. Texas DPS didn“t release Phillips name on Sunday, because his next of kin had not been notified.
Cooke also pronounce Leslie A. Spear, 23, of Coppell, dead at 6:16 a.m. Sunday. Her name was released Sunday afternoon.
The two died after an accident at 3:45 a.m. one mile east of Clear Creek on 190. Spear was driving a 2005 Ford Mustang eastbound in the inside westbound lane of 190 when she struck a 2003 Cadilac DeVille, driven by Phillips, traveling west in the inside westbound lane of 190, said Texas Department of Public Safety officials.
A passenger of the Mustang, Amanda Jo Elmore, 22, of Temple, was taken to Scott and White Memorial Hospital due to serious injuries. Elmore remained at Scott and White Sunday night in critical condition, said officials at the hospital.
Cooke ordered autopsies on Spear and Phillips from the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas, he said.
